What we flag
When a shop dumps photos, software looks for problems. We flag weapons, kids’ items that may be unsafe (for example damaged gear, cribs, car seats), luxury-looking pieces we will not call authentic, and photos that may show a face, name, or address.
Weapons
Do not list firearms, ammunition, or other weapons. A possible weapon flag means the owner must review. We can hold or remove the item and, if needed, the shop.
Unsafe kids’ items
Recalled or unsafe children’s products, damaged kids’ gear, cribs, and car seats can be flagged. The shop must not sell something they know is unsafe. We can hold or remove it.
Fakes
We do not let a listing claim authenticity we cannot see. Luxury names in a photo can raise a flag so the shop does not type a fake brand story. Counterfeit goods are not allowed. We can hold or remove listings that look like fakes.
Personal information in photos
A face, a name, or an address in a shelf photo can be flagged. Shops should crop people and mail out of the frame. We can hold or remove photos that expose someone else’s personal information.
We can hold or remove
ShelfTonight can keep an item off the public floor, reject it in review, or take down a shop that ignores these rules. Buyers who see something that should not be for sale can write support@shelftonight.com.
